A new cinematic in WoW makes the hearts of Alliance players soar. It is about Anduin Wrynn, the current King of Humans …
This post is about some important characters from World of Warcraft and their future. Consider this a spoiler warning!
With patch 7.2 of World of Warcraft, the namesake Tomb of Sargeras and the Broken Shore are indeed at the center of events, but there are also a few actions off the islands.
Especially Alliance players can be pleased, as a new questline sheds light on the story of Anduin Wrynn, the current King of Stormwind. On this mission, players accompany Anduin through the streets of Stormwind and share in his melancholy. Anduin still has not overcome the death of his father.
Ultimately, the questline culminates on the Broken Shore, as Anduin sneaks there to visit the place of his father’s death. It is here that he also sees for the first time the horrors brought upon the land by the Legion and the impact of the battle at the Broken Shore.
This all ends in a cinematic where Anduin, Genn Greymane, and Prophet Velen stand on the shore. The complete cinematic has already been extracted by data miners at wowhead and can be viewed here in English:
Ultimately, Anduin manages to overcome his shadow and bear the burden of the crown. In a vision, he sees his father one last time, giving him the advice to “do what a king must do.” Varian originally spoke this sentence after the Siege of Orgrimmar, when the fate of the Horde was decided. At that time, he acted mercifully and allowed the Horde to continue under a new Warchief.
What Anduin’s future will look like is still uncertain. According to the pre-Legion comics, he will probably join the Army of Light and may play a significant role in the downfall of the Legion.
Soon there might be new graphic updates in World of Warcraft – with fluttering capes, for example.
