The Alliance received a lot of new story in WoW Patch 7.2. However, things look rather bleak for the Horde.
For the past few weeks, Alliance players have been able to complete a special quest at the Broken Shore of World of Warcraft. They find a memento that they can then bring to Anduin Wrynn, the King of Stormwind. After a short wait, the questline continues, and players can accompany Anduin to listen to his concerns and problems. At the end of the questline, players even accompany the young king to the Broken Shore, where there is a special cinematic in which Anduin sees his father one last time.
However, Horde players come away completely empty-handed. In Patch 7.2, they receive neither a new cinematic nor a fresh questline regarding the current state of the Horde and its leaders. But why is that? Are all the comments right that claim “Blizzard hates the Horde”?
The answer to that was given by Community Manager Aerythlea in the official forum.
“The Anduin questline and cinematic are meant to tie up the loose ends of the Alliance leadership that arose from the Broken Shore of 7.0.”
The Horde had already received a second cinematic back then, namely the one of Vol’Jin’s death.
However, they take the fans’ criticism to heart, and especially because the questline yields a solid amount of artifact power, some Horde players are disappointed. In the future, they want to avoid such inconsistencies.
Cortyn says: Honestly, I find it pretty cool when there is content only for one faction. It strengthens the sense of belonging, and timing-wise, the cinematic fit perfectly. Even as a Horde player, one has to admit that it can’t always be about the crazy Banshee Queen with a penchant for grandeur. Besides, it’s the perfect incentive for all Horde players to level up an Alliance character.
