When does the alpha of WoW: Dragonflight finally start? The Blizzard launcher spoils: Very soon, as the data is already there.
The player base of World of Warcraft is slowly becoming restless, as the beta of WoW: Dragonflight has not yet started. But now there are new signs that the first test is imminent. Data miners have discovered something again…
What happened? As the site wowhead reports, data miners have found the first lines of code in the Battle.net launcher that clearly point to the alpha of Dragonflight. In a config file, for instance, the line “world_of_warcraft#WoW_DRAGON_INSTALL_BACKGROUND_V2” can be found – necessary files to download Dragonflight in the background. Other lines say things like “Alpha of Dragonflight”.
These are all unmistakable signs that the alpha and then the beta are basically ready to launch. So we should expect to finally see our first experiences from Dragonflight in the coming days – if the public is invited to these tests.
Why is this so important? Especially because time is running out for the developers to start a comprehensive test. World of Warcraft Dragonflight is set to release in 2022, as Blizzard stated during the pre-sale. By December 31, 2022, the game must be complete and in the hands of customers – in less than 6 months.
The remaining time for a comprehensive test is shrinking every day, so the room for maneuver is becoming smaller to respond to community feedback and make larger adjustments if necessary.
How can one participate in the alpha? If you want a chance to get into the alpha or beta of Dragonflight, you can easily sign up for the test. This can be done on the official World of Warcraft site. We have outlined the individual steps for beta registration here.
Are you looking forward to an alpha or beta of Dragonflight? Or would you rather wait for the release and want to avoid spoilers as much as possible?
