The addon “Mythic Dungeon Tools” in World of Warcraft is free again. However, the reason is not so pleasant.
Several days ago, we reported on MeinMMO about the interface addon Mythic Dungeon Tools (MDT). It’s a useful tool for many WoW players. The creator had made parts of the addon paid, which sparked a massive backlash. There were even reportedly death threats.
What is Mythic Dungeon Tools? The addon has been very popular in the “Mythic+” community. It allows players to meticulously plan dungeon routes with just a few clicks and share them with the entire group or other players. This way, all players can see in advance how the dungeon is to be approached and which groups are to be excluded or merged. Overall, it’s an extremely popular tool that many players appreciated.
What was the problem? After the creator of the addon, Nnoggie, was messaged by viewers during a stream that he should finally update MDT, he lost his temper a bit during the stream. He explained that people should actually pay him if they wanted to use the addon.
Shortly after the conclusion of the “World First” race, the update for MDT was released. Creature data was missing, so players had to pay if they wanted that feature back.
The community reacted angrily: The community’s response came promptly. Just a few hours later, someone released the “Manbaby Dungeon Tools” to take revenge on Nnoggie. At the same time, Nnoggie apparently faced a real backlash, as numerous users of the addon complained.
Nnoggie apologizes, feels terrible
What has now happened? Almost 4 days after the incident, Nnoggie has now published a statement and has reverted the paid component of Mythic Dungeon Tools. In an apology, he writes:
The changes I made to MDT regarding NPC and mapping data will be reverted. Refunds can be obtained via Patreon messages or [email protected].

I apologize to the people in my community who have supported me over the years – I have disappointed you, and I am sorry. Taking something away from you regarding MDT was never fair, and I see that now. I messed up.
Honestly, I never made it hard for people not to like me, but what I have experienced from the WoW community in the last few days is something I never thought I would see, and it contributed to bringing me to a very dark place. I hope to get through this with the help of my family and friends, but currently, not a day goes by that I don’t have bad thoughts.
I have become a victim of massive harassment, including some smear campaigns on social media and news websites that published fake screenshots of messages I never wrote. They compared and labeled me as a rapist, as a woman hater, and I became a victim of spam attacks, doxxing, and I received messages that made me want to kill myself or direct death threats.
Some of these attacks started during the World First race.
I want this to stop.
The consequence is that MDT is now free again. However, if Nnoggie’s accusations about some players are true, this is another sad example of incidents on the internet that go more than just a step too far. Just because someone no longer offers an interface addon should that person ever be a victim of threats of this kind.
