The most famous Gnoll in World of Warcraft has been significantly improved. After much criticism, Blizzard has now given him a new, terrifying model.
While some WoW fans just shrugged silently, for others it was a cardinal sin. The legendary Gnoll Hogger has received a new model in WoW and suddenly didn’t seem so threatening to many players anymore. In the eyes of many Alliance players, he became a laughing stock and no longer the feared Gnoll from Elwynn Forest, who used to slay new heroes by the dozens. Now Blizzard has significantly improved things in the Alpha of Dragonflight.
What was the problem? Many WoW heroes associate great memories with Hogger. It was for members of the Alliance the first elite quest they ever encountered. And like so many others, they tried this quest back in Vanilla solo, only to die within seconds.
Hogger is the leader of the Gnolls, a scourge to the humans of Elwynn and one of the most well-known “small” villains from World of Warcraft.
His new model didn’t fit him at all. The threatening Gnoll had become a bright, almost silly puppy – at least in the eyes of the fans.
What has Blizzard done now? The developers apparently took this criticism to heart and improved things in the latest version of the Alpha of Dragonflight. Hogger received a unique skin with special clothing that makes him appear much more threatening. His fur color was darkened once again, he now wears dark clothing, and generally looks more menacing.
