A hotfix for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has increased the drop rates for legendary effects. The memories you need will now drop significantly more often with the increasing difficulty of a dungeon. It will get even better in the future.
Here is the change: On the evening of December 3rd, Blizzard deployed a hotfix for World of Warcraft. This increases the drop chance for legendary effects depending on the difficulty of the dungeon you enter:
- Heroic dungeons have a significantly higher chance than normal
- Mythic dungeons have a significantly higher chance than heroic
- Mythic Keystone dungeons have an even higher and increasing chance
The Keystone dungeons (“Mythic+”) can only be entered starting December 9th. According to the official post in the forum, the chance will continue to increase the higher you play the Keystone.
Why do I need this? The legendary effects are one of the resources you need for crafting Legendaries in WoW. They determine what effect the armor piece you are crafting has. You can find out exactly how it works in our detailed guide on crafting Legendaries in Shadowlands.
Legendaries: Easier to farm through heroic dungeons
Which Legendaries are affected? According to Blizzard, the change only applies to legendary effects you receive from dungeons. Torghast and world bosses are not affected. You can check if your top effects are affected in our list of the best Legendaries for each class.
Farming will now be significantly easier for many effects, especially since there is no daily lockout for heroic dungeons anymore. If you are still missing an important effect, you can run the “HC dungeon” as often as you like.
What does this do for me? With the change about a week before the raid opens and the start of Mythic+, you can now prepare in time for the new endgame content.
If you already have everything you need, you can use the time to prepare further or level up a second character to have a bit of choice. However, there is still plenty to do until Castle Nathria opens its gates. If you are feeling lost, here are 5 things you should do in week 2 of Shadowlands.
