If you want to earn gold, you should wait before submitting your emissary quests. There are changes in World of Warcraft.
Update 25.10.2018: The hotfix is now live. Gold emissary quests now award a proud 2000 gold!
Original report: Every day, an emissary quest in World of Warcraft invites you to complete three or four missions for a specific reputation faction.
In return, you can receive an item, war resources, artifact power, or 700 gold coins. The last two rewards, artifact power and gold coins, are now being altered with a hotfix. So you should not turn in the quests yet!
Which emissary quests are involved? Currently, there is an emissary quest for the Tortollan, the humanoid turtles. Completing three quests with this faction rewards you with 1500 reputation and an additional 700 gold coins. The quest can be submitted until tomorrow night (October 25 to 26).
What does Blizzard want to change? A hotfix is scheduled to go live today, which will “increase the gold reward from emissary quests.” The exact measure of the increase is not yet known, but Blizzard itself recommends on Twitter that you should wait to turn in the quest.
The reward for artifact power will also be increased. Currently, there are 600 artifact power as a “bonus” and 400 artifact power as standard. Here too, the amount is set to increase.
If you act hastily and submit the mission early, you could miss out on several hundred gold coins.
Blizzard is partly responding to player criticism that they can no longer afford to play World of Warcraft normally. The gold costs of many activities are too high, and the income from regular gameplay is too low.
By the way, from today you can finally download WoW: Classic again after 11 years!
Have you already turned in the quest and are now kicking yourself?
