Once again in the Black Temple of World of Warcraft – the remake of the popular trailer evokes nostalgic feelings.
In recent months, we have occasionally talked about IKedit, which revisits many old trailers from World of Warcraft and gives them a new coat of paint. Now he has redesigned the trailer for one of the most popular raids of all time: the Black Temple.
Old trailer with new graphics: The remake of the trailer is based on pretty much all camera angles from the original trailer from 2007. However, more detailed models were used, graphics and animations were polished, and elaborate effects were implemented in various scenes that more closely match the current state of technology.
Why the Black Temple was so popular: The Black Temple is likely still remembered by many players, as some special figures from the Warcraft universe were fought there. Not only Teron’gor and Akama were present, but also Illidan Stormrage himself as the final boss. And what melee fighter didn’t want to complete the set of the Warglaives of Azzinoth back then?
The popularity of the temple ultimately also led to the raid being given a “Timewalking” version, where players at the maximum level can still try a lighter version of the bosses from back then.
If you want to see the original trailer from back then for comparison, you can do so here:
Illidan was extremely popular: Illidan was one of the main characters in the strategy game Warcraft 3, and at that time it seemed as though the Black Temple represented the end of his story. That is why the temple still holds a special place in the memories of many players. This has not changed even though Illidan’s story was later altered for the WoW expansion “Legion”.
What do you think of the trailer remake? An impressive achievement? Or does it not match the charm of the original?
