We present you a list of the 5 most desired items from World of Warcraft that many players still want today.
World of Warcraft has amassed several tens of thousands of items in its database over the years. However, only a few of them are truly useful and even fewer are highly coveted. We present you our Top 5 items that were particularly sought-after in the earlier days of World of Warcraft. Some of them are still in demand today!
Al’ar’s Ashes

Throughout numerous expansions, dungeons, and raids, there have always been particularly rare or particularly beautiful mounts. Many of them have remained in players’ memories, and a few particularly rare mounts still haunt collectors to this day.
But the “king” of all these mounts is Al’ar’s Ashes, with which one can summon the Phoenix mount. It was introduced during The Burning Crusade and can still be obtained in the Tempest Keep from Kael’thas Sunstrider. Although the boss fight is now a piece of cake and the Sun Prince falls at just a glance, the mount remains particularly rare. There are still reports of players who have been killing Kael’thas weekly for almost a decade and still do not own his Phoenix. This makes this mount one of the most coveted items in all of World of Warcraft.
A few honorary mentions should also be made here. Other mounts were very desirable but could never surpass the Phoenix god:
- The Deathcharger from Baron Rivendare (Stratholme)
- Invincible (The Lich King)
- Swift Zulian Tiger (Bloodlord Mandokir)
- Winterfall Sabercat (Hard work – back then)
On the next page, we’ll show you one of the most popular swords that World of Warcraft has ever had.
