If Death Knights in World of Warcraft set their minds to something, they follow through. They mastered Atal’Dazar on “Mythic+12” and that completely without healers or DPS.
Every successful group for a “Mythic+” dungeon in World of Warcraft needs a solid mix of tank, healer, and three damage dealers to be successful. Every group? Not really. Because as we have now learned, you can also just go in with 5 tanks to tackle the toughest challenges in Battle for Azeroth.
What happened? A group of five Blood Death Knights tackled the dungeon Atal’Dazar at the difficulty “Mythic+12”. To the amazement of many viewers of the stream, they even completed the dungeon within the time limit. Still 43 seconds remained on the timer.
“Mythic+15” has already been mastered after just a few days, by the way.
How was this possible? Blood Death Knights are tanks in World of Warcraft with solid damage output and extremely high self-healing. This makes a healer nearly unnecessary, as the Death Knights can simply taunt the enemies off each other, heal themselves up, and then take back aggro when it gets critical for a teammate.
It is also important that Death Knights can control some undead enemies in Atal’Dazar and effectively take them along as “pets,” greatly increasing the damage dealt. These include the Reanimated Honor Guard, which deals extremely high area damage and swiftly dispatches many foes.
Who are the 5 Death Knights? The 5 Death Knights are not “anyone,” but some of the best players in the world. They are participants of the “Mythic Dungeon Invitational” and some of the best players from the raid guild Method. Method was also responsible for the first kill of G’huun on mythic.
Have you also set such a task as a goal? Are you impressed by the performance? Or should such a thing not be possible?
