A YouTuber promises with his farming method 47,000 gold per hour in World of Warcraft. We checked to see what is really behind it.
Making gold is a perennial topic in World of Warcraft. Every player wants to have gold, especially because legendary items, potions, and buff food can be quite expensive. But how can you effectively farm gold? There are many guides, tips, and tricks, but not all of them work really well.
Today we look at a strategy from YouTuber Æxitus the Monk, who promises in one of his recent videos that you can farm 47,000 gold per hour in World of Warcraft.
What does the YouTuber suggest? Æxitus suggests taking a character with the Mining profession and making Suramar in Legion unsafe. In the northwest of the area, he farms here in an almost circular route continuously for Leyline Crystals and Infernal Stone. These were the two main ores during the Legion expansion, which are basically needed for almost all recipes that can be made by blacksmiths or engineers. You should also cover these professions with Twinks.
To speed up farming, you should use items like the “Demonic Stag Saddle” and “Darkmoon Fire Water”, which reduce mining speed and ensure that you do not have to dismount to mine.
However, there are two or three items that you can craft:
- Automatic Hammer: The Automatic Hammer is basically a repair bot that can be built by engineers. You can use it anywhere to repair your gear and that of the group. It also works in raids or Mythic+ dungeons – especially where you otherwise cannot mount and this kind of repair is excluded.
- Demonsteel Bars: These bars are made from Infernal Stone and Leyline Crystals and were used for armor back then. However, there is also another lucrative recipe that requires these bars.
- Steelbound Devourer: This is a mount, a fel-green core hound. Blacksmiths can make this, but they need a lot of resources. In addition to the Demonsteel Bars, blacksmiths also need a lot of Blood of Sargeras and some other resources from world quests. The recipe for this mount drops from Tichondrius in the Night Fortress – he can be defeated solo at level 60.
The “Blood of Sargeras” for the Steelbound Devourer will likely be the bigger problem, as you need a hefty 50 pieces of it. But you can also proceed more effectively here. Look for world quests and Legion invasions that grant this resource directly. Alternatively, you can complete the world quests that give you many hundreds of order resources, as you can exchange these resources for Blood of Sargeras in your order hall.
Why should this work? The content of Legion is largely outdated, which is why, aside from players during the leveling phase, only a few people are staying there. So in the best case, you have an entire farming area all to yourself and can harvest many hundreds of ores per hour, which translates to a corresponding number of Automatic Hammers.
The items you are aiming to craft are also still useful. A repair bot continues to be needed often and shortens waiting times for raid and dungeon players.
Demand for the items determines profit
Can you really reach 47,000 gold per hour with this? Here one would probably have to answer with a clear “It depends.” In principle, the gold amount can certainly be farmed, but enough buyers for the items, like the hammers or the mount, need to be found. The earnings will vary from realm to realm.
Finding buyers can take quite a bit of time, but if you consistently put your items up for auction, you should eventually sell them.
Especially for the mount, it makes sense to occasionally advertise it in the trade channel. Because attractive items, like big mounts, sell best when potential collectors can click on them directly and see them – the trade channel is your friend here.
But be sure to check before farming whether the mount or the Automatic Hammer is already being offered in large quantities on your realm. If that’s the case, it could become significantly more difficult to find buyers, or you may need to significantly lower the price.
