The race for the World First Kill of Jaina in World of Warcraft is underway. Meanwhile, 26 guilds have reached the final battle.
A few days ago we reported that two guilds are attempting the last boss of the mythic raid “Battle of Dazar’alor” – Limit and Method. Since then, several other guilds have joined, such as Exorsus, Pieces, and Wildcard Gaming. Currently, 26 guilds are trying to defeat the last boss of the current raid. There hasn’t been a more exciting race with so many participants in years.
What makes Jaina so difficult? Jaina requires near-perfect coordination and maximum performance from all roles like no other fight in Dazar’alor. There is practically no room for error, as a single misstep can lead to a player’s death, making the subsequent phases impossible – after all, Jaina has a tough enrage timer on “Mythic”, after which she simply wins.
But other mechanics also require all players to free allies from ice blocks before they die in them. If 1-2 DPS are missing here, it becomes virtually impossible.
Jaina received an adjustment: A few days ago there was a small hotfix where the fight against Jaina Proudmoore was adjusted. A bug was fixed that caused players to receive too many stacks of a debuff, and Jaina is now able to cast some spells while moving. This allows players to pull her to specific positions, and tanks should not be able to avoid certain effects. However, a debuff was also corrected that did not increase the damage taken by players as intended. So there were both buffs and nerfs.
Method is still missing about 12%: Since the guild Limit is not streaming their progress, we can only speculate on how far they are. However, it is clearer with the European guild Method. They have already brought Jaina down to 16.7% of her health and only need another 11.7% damage, as the fight ends at 5% – at least on all other difficulties. Whether Jaina has an “ace up her sleeve” here on mythic remains to be seen.
