The latest raid in WoW on the highest difficulty – without healers and DPS? With these tricks, the pros really got far.
Several days ago, we reported that a group of tanks plowed through the heroic mode of Ny’alotha. But those who know Nnoggie from Method know that he is not satisfied with the heroic mode.
Just a few days later, he started a new attempt and wanted this time to take on the current raid Ny’alotha on mythic difficulty. This is the toughest gameplay mode that WoW has to offer and is often responsible for exciting “World First” races.
This is how far they have come: In the first run, the group actually managed to down 7 out of 12 bosses – so more than half. Whether the other bosses will follow in the coming days remains to be seen.

How is this even possible? The fact that a pure tank group can plow through the mythic version of Ny’alotha is mainly due to two different systems that together have a great effect.
- The essence Strength of the Guardian for the Heart of Azeroth is the first factor. A passive effect is that the health points of all tanks in the raid increase by 3% – and this is stackable. In a group of 20 tanks, all using this essence, each character has over 60% additional health points!
- The second factor is the corruption effect Twilight Devastation. This deals damage in an area in front of the respective player that corresponds to (depending on the level) 18% of their own health points. As many players also stack this corruption, the value rises to up to 36% of their own health points.
When tank players, who already have many health points, now increase this value by 60% and then deal 36% of their HP as damage, extremely high values can be achieved, where even the toughest bosses melt away in no time. For a tank that has (even if only for a short time) 4 million health points, this equates to a damage of 1.4 million – with a critical hit even a whopping 2.8 million.
10 bear druids have already defeated N’Zoth on heroic, by the way.
Some players are now calling for a nerf for the corresponding essences or the corruption effects. Others, however, believe that such actions are normal at the end of an expansion and are just part of it.
