Mythic Keystone dungeons are one of the most important endgame content in World of Warcraft. Each week, the challenges you face change – and other dungeons may become easier or harder. MeinMMO presents you with two that are easy to master and two that you should rather avoid.
What are mythic Keystone dungeons? Keystone dungeons are among the toughest and most important challenges in WoW. They are mythic dungeons for five players with increasing difficulty.
The dungeons have different levels and affixes that make them harder. These give enemies more health, deal more damage, and have special abilities.
In the dungeons, you can find better items than in regular mythic dungeons, and you can use them to improve the weekly Great Vault.
What are the affixes this week? Since Wednesday, January 13, 2021, the following affixes are active:
- Tyrannical (from level 2): Bosses have more health and deal more damage.
- Angry (from level 4): Regular enemies go into a rage at 30% health and deal 100% more damage.
- Explosive (from level 7): Explosive orbs appear in combat that players must destroy.
- Pride (from level 10): Whenever 20% of the enemy forces are defeated, a powerful manifestation of Pride appears.
Some dungeons become significantly harder due to these affixes, while others are easier to master. General tip: each of the Covenants of Shadowlands has a special advantage in certain dungeons.
These dungeons are worth it this week
Of the eight dungeons in Shadowlands, two are particularly easy to master with the affixes this week. It’s best to use them if you want to master higher-level keys.
Fog of Tirna Scithe
What makes the dungeon so easy? The Fog of Tirna Scithe is considered fundamentally the easiest dungeon. It is so easy that the first +20 key was completed within the time limit there early on . There is plenty of space and groups can choose to play individually or come together.
Moreover, the Fog of Tirna Scithe is the only dungeon in Shadowlands that has only three bosses instead of the usual four or five. This saves you a boss fight which would be made even harder with “Tyrannical”.
What should I pay attention to? Even though the Fog is quite easy, you should be careful at the start. The first groups with the Branchbreakers and Soulsplitters can quickly become deadly through “Angry” if the tank is careless.
Additionally, it is worth having a Night Fae in the group. They can open shortcuts, set respawn points, and even unlock a buff. You should also take a good look at how the Fog puzzle works:
Halls of Atonement
What makes the dungeon so easy? The affixes this week don’t make the Halls of Atonement significantly harder than it already is. You can confidently run routes you are familiar with, possibly with a bit more caution depending on the level and your gear.
Once the first groups are removed, you should have enough space to kite enemies – i.e. run away from them – and play with the explosive orbs.
What should I pay attention to? Be careful not to accidentally pull more enemies than planned. A Venthyr in the group can help you by taking over gargoyles in the instance that will then assist you.
A hunter is also useful to soothe the gargoyles should they become angry. They can do so even without an affix and thus quickly become a danger to the tank and the group.
These dungeons are annoying this week
Two of the eight dungeons are particularly annoying this week. If you don’t have to, it’s better to choose other instances.
Theater of Pain
What makes the dungeon so annoying? First and foremost, the Theater of Pain has five bosses than any other dungeon. With “Tyrannical” these become even tougher, and the timer is already very tight. Despite a nerf, it is still considered difficult.
In addition, there are minibosses in the corridors that can become really nasty through “Angry”. Furthermore, no route can be optimally calculated so that a manifestation can be fought before each boss. Accordingly, a corresponding buff often falls by the wayside.
What should I pay attention to? Be sure to take a Necrolord with you. The buff from the banners in the instance makes the theater at least a little more pleasant. Still, plan your route through carefully in advance.
With a Death Knight in the group, you can also take over some of the NPCs in the instance. An Ancient Captain, for example, grants your group a strong buff and can weaken enemies. Tanks or Frost Death Knights are best suited for this because they do not need to give up a companion.
A Paladin has completed the Theater of Pain mythic solo.
Bloodspear Depths
What makes the dungeon so annoying? The Bloodspear Depths are even worse than the Theater and are probably the hardest dungeon this week. Each of the bosses, which are already powerful, becomes even tougher due to “Tyrannical.”
The bosses are already considered some of the hardest encounters in the game. Especially Kraal will cause you many wipes without practice, and the gauntlet to her is also extremely tedious with the affixes.
What should I pay attention to? One or two melee fighters are extremely useful this week. They can take care of the explosive orbs and are not at such a disadvantage when they need to move, especially in the fight against Tarvold.
Otherwise, you must ensure that your healer and your tank are well-equipped and know what they are doing. In doubt, these two can keep a group alive during a boss fight before a wipe.
What about you? Which dungeons do you find particularly easy this week, which particularly hard? Do you agree with our list or do you have other tops and flops?
