Patch 9.0.5 of World of Warcraft has changed many things. A lot of it was not mentioned in the patch notes – we call these secret changes.
As a rule, Blizzard always publishes extensive patch notes for updates to World of Warcraft. This was also the case for Patch 9.0.5, but there are quite a few changes that are not listed in the patch notes. These are often just minor details, but sometimes nice new features that were simply forgotten to be documented. The colleagues from wowhead have found several things that were not in the patch notes – of course we do not want to withhold these from you.
1. New shortcut for Venthyr
Players who have dedicated themselves to the Venthyr covenant in Revendreth can look forward to a new bat. This brings players directly to the surface of Sinfall. Until now, there was such a bat only on one of the two levels, now it is available on both levels, thus shortening travel times.
2. Oribos has received more mailboxes
In Oribos, you can now find two new mailboxes and you no longer have to run all the way to the inn. One mailbox is located in the northeast of the inner circle, right in front of the hall with the large treasury and the bank. There is another mailbox all the way to the west, just in front of the enclave when you want to walk into the city from the portal.
Previously, players had to gather in front of the inn, which often led to display issues.
3. Exchange honor for honor badges
For those who have too much honor points and want to buy old PvP transmog sets, there is good news. It is now possible to exchange accumulated honor directly for honor badges, which can be used to buy old sets and weapons. The exchange is possible at the regular PvP vendor in the enclave of Oribos.
The price is 2,000 honor for 5 honor badges.
4. Rendel is now rich
The little Rendel has been standing in Castle Nathria for quite some time now, diligently repairing the armor of players who keep failing against the raid bosses. Blizzard has apparently realized that Rendel must be earning a ridiculous amount from the repair costs and has now donated him a pile of gold. Too bad that you can do so little with gold in Revendreth, otherwise the little guy would probably be set for life…
Repairing armor ain’t much, but it’s honest work. from r/wow
5. Male blood elves now smile wickedly
The male blood elves have been changed – at least their faces. Many of the faces now have a more pronounced chin, a slightly smaller nose, and fuller lips. The change is quite small, but anyone who has played a blood elf as their main character for years is likely to notice the change immediately when looking at their face.
This leads to male blood elves smiling a bit more wickedly than before.
6. More XP for adventurers
Some of the adventure missions of the covenants have been significantly improved regarding the experience points they grant. Instead of 1,200 or 1,500 XP, the quests now grant 1,500 and 2,500 experience points. This should allow you to level up your adventurers faster and get the whole team to level 60 as soon as possible.
However, the corresponding missions have been converted into “rare” and elite quests, which means they will consume more anima in the future.
7. “Turnspeed” speed has been reduced
Those who turn using a key press instead of the mouse were able to adjust the speed via the command “/console turnspeed [number]”. The maximum was previously 1,000, but has now been reduced to 700. At maximum speed, display issues occurred with other players.
The change comes after a bug was discovered a few weeks ago where priests could change the speed of other players.
8. Ghost wolves have slower animation
Shamans transforming into a ghost wolf may have noticed a change in the animations. The run animation of the ghost wolf is now displayed slower. However, the actual movement speed has not changed; this is merely an optical adjustment.
9. New house in Elwynn
A new house has appeared in the forest of Elwynn. Its purpose is unknown, as the little house does not seem to be tied to any quest so far. It is conceivable that this is simply a reference to D&D, as the name resembles an important character from the game. However, it is also possible that a new hidden puzzle in the game will eventually lead to this house.
10. More overview of your gold
When you now open a trading window with an NPC and sell items from your inventory, you will receive a message in the chat at the end that shows you exactly how much you earned from all sales. This helps to get a little summary of how much value the entire gray junk actually had that you banished from your inventory.
Have you discovered any other changes that Blizzard has not revealed? Have you noticed anything new?
