On PlayStation 4, there is no official way to display your playtime. While PC players can track where they have invested the most time on platforms like Steam, PS4 players are left in the dark. A fan site is changing that now.
This is a sad fact: On PlayStation 4, playtimes cannot be displayed on the console itself. Sony does not offer such statistics, unlike other providers like Valve’s Steam – or just as a highlight. Only in the individual games can such information be displayed, but even that is not always the case.
The playtime is an interesting piece of information and often leads to discussions – especially among friends. Just recently, a PC player spent 1000 days of playtime with just one character in the MMORPG World of Warcraft.
This is the alternative: A fan site named PS-Timetracker addresses this issue and offers all PS4 players an alternative. By adding a bot as a friend to your PS account, your activities will then be tracked and presented on the website as statistics for you personally.
The collected playtime data is also used for a publicly accessible top 100 list, where the total playtime of users for a month is aggregated. Currently, the number 1 is The Last of Us Part 2, closely followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
These are the disadvantages: PS-Timetracker offers a good solution, but unfortunately, playtime is only tracked once the bot is in your friends list. Any playtime you invested in your PlayStation 4 in the months or years prior will not be displayed.
The website itself does not have too many users yet, so the public monthly statistics are not representative of the entire PlayStation community. However, it still provides a rough insight into the most played titles.
