Today, on January 19, 2023, the gates of Ulduar in WotLK Classic will open. The raid plays a special role in World of Warcraft. The raid first appeared in 2009, 14 years ago, but gets a new trailer for the release in Classic.
What kind of raid is that? Ulduar is one of the gigantic complexes of the Titans that remain on Azeroth. The raid offers 13 bosses as well as one optional boss. At the end, the Old God Yogg-Saron awaits you, whose madness taints the entire instance.
Ulduar is considered one of the best raids in the history of WoW – not only because it is so massive, but also because of its mechanics. With Ulduar, Blizzard expanded the system of optional “Hard Modes” and applied it to almost all bosses.
If players wanted, they could activate optional difficulties on 10 of the 14 bosses to later receive better loot. Ulduar was also the last raid where this was possible. Later raids then offered a normal and heroic mode in addition to the number of players to determine the difficulty.

When can I enter Ulduar? In WotLK Classic, Ulduar starts on Thursday, January 19 at 11:59 PM CET. From then on, you can enter the raid and fight the bosses.
Raid loot from heroic dungeons
There are already other contents that are worth preparing for: Titan Rune Dungeons.
The latest patch 3.1.0 in WotLK Classic is on the servers and brings a new feature to the game that wasn’t there before: Titan Rune Dungeons. At the beginning of a heroic dungeon, you can now interact with a Titan Rune.
If all players use the rune, the enemies in the dungeon become stronger. They gain more health points, deal more damage, and receive special abilities depending on the dungeon. The system works roughly like Mythic+ in retail WoW.
In augmented dungeons, better loot drops than usual, corresponding to the loot from the 10-player modes of Naxxramas, the Eye of Eternity, and the Obsidian Sanctum. Additionally, there are 3 Emblems of Conquest in addition to the Emblems of Honor.
WotLK Classic is very popular among fans, but will soon lose a large player base: China. Here, Blizzard did not renew its partnership with NetEase, and almost all of the studio’s games will go offline there on January 23:
