The Call of Duty: Warzone frequently struggles with minor and major bugs that often disappear as quickly as they come. However, the worst bug keeps returning – the Stim Glitch.
What is the Stim Glitch? With this bug, cheating players can stay in the otherwise deadly gas outside the play area of Call of Duty: Warzone for an extended period.
Just before their health runs out, they use the tactical item “Stim Shot” and regain full health. This is completely normal and also a smart method to survive longer in the gas. However, due to bugs in the game, cheaters acquire so many Stim Shots that they can nearly withstand the gas indefinitely.
Fair players then stand clueless and hopeless on the last squares of the actual play area, watching as the circle slowly closes and their remaining health depletes in the gas.
New version of the Stim Glitch reduces fair players’ chances of victory
Why is it the worst bug in the game? On one hand, because it’s so unfair. There is no chance against Stim Glitchers since they can use the glitch anywhere on the map while you can only wait at the final circle locations until you run out of breath.
On the other hand, because it has appeared so often in the game. Initially, cheaters used a bug to throw infinite tactical items, like flash grenades, at their enemies. They quickly found out that they could survive indefinitely in the gas because the Stim Shots constantly fully heal their health. The history of suffering:
- Early October 2020 – The Stim Glitch / infinite tactical items glitch fixed
- Mid-November 2020 to the start of Season 1 of Cold War – The second version of the Stim Glitch caused trouble
- Beginning of 2021, the Stim Glitch returned with the invisibility glitch – Fix took 2 weeks
- End of January 2021 – A new version of the Stim Glitch is causing havoc
How does the latest version work? MeinMMO refrains from giving an exact description in this article. However, the latest version is less about the Stims and more about broken logistics with the ammo boxes.
The mechanics of Warzone are exploited to survive forever in the gas, leaving regular players no chance of resistance.
Are the developers working on it? On the developers’ Trello board, which notes the bugs they are currently working on, there is an entry about the Stim Glitch – “Infinite tactical equipment: Players abusing Stims to cheat.” However, noted on this card is also a reminder from January 13 – “Update was released this morning.” The bug is still under observation and should receive attention from the developers this time as well. However, how long this will take is currently uncertain.
