In the MMORPG Worlds Adrift, griefers make life difficult for newcomers. The developers are currently working on countermeasures that should be implemented soon.
When experienced players repeatedly attack newcomers in the starting areas and this “griefing” negatively affects the fun of the game, something must be done. Bossa Studios have also taken notice and are already working on improvements to protect new players from PKers, the player killers.

Bossa Studios announce changes
Worlds Adrift is “Griefers Paradise.” The open PvP in Worlds Adrift is supposed to lead to exciting battles between players. However, it has now been revealed that veterans prefer to return to the beginner areas to repeatedly attack newcomers. The situation is now getting out of control.
The developers want to take action. Bossa Studios are aware of the situation and have already stated that they want to initiate countermeasures. The team is currently working on several ideas. However, it will take some time before all these countermeasures are integrated into the game. A small part of fixes and adjustments has already found its way into the MMO, but the situation has not really improved so far. The improvements include:
- You will take less time to build your first airship. This gives griefers less time to attack you before you can effectively retaliate.
- Your ships will now automatically explode when you are far away from them.
- Wood is stronger, lighter, and lasts longer.
The studio shows another side of griefing: Amid all the drama, the studio has not lost its sense of humor and shows another side of “griefing”. They have reportedly received complaints not only about other players but also about ship engines that have been responsible for player deaths, unruly wooden planks, or a manta ray that knocked a player off their feet.
The MMO Worlds Adrift is currently in Early Access and is playable on Steam.
