In World of Warcraft there will be no flying on your own flying mount with patch 6.1 in Draenor either. Instead, the flight routes are intended to be improved.
There will also be no personal flying in Draenor in the upcoming patch 6.1, Blizzard confirmed in a Q&A session on reddit. They are satisfied with how things are currently going in Draenor and that “Ground Travel”, the journey on foot or on any mount, has become important again.
Whether a player is currently looking for treasures, pondering how to get to a mountain peak, or simply finding their way around the world, this is something that is only possible because there is no flying.
The reasons for not allowing flying remain in place even with patch 6.1. However, with 6.1, the flight routes will change. Players will then be able to fly directly from point A to point B, even if they have already discovered stations in between.
