The Military MMO World of Warships will virtually grant the Japanese battleship Yamato the glory that the super-ship was denied in real life. The ship was like the biblical Goliath, but there was not just one David, but 400.
It was as if Japan forged the ultimate samurai sword at a time when all others were producing machine guns, as stated in the trailer for the Yamato in World of Warships.
The actual “super battleship Yamato” was 17 stories high, weighed 72,000 tons, and would have been the ultimate super weapon on the seven seas, had it not arrived too late and ended up in an ocean that already knew aircraft carriers and submarines. Warfare had changed and the giant was shot to pieces by 400 airplanes over hours.
In World of Warships, the Yamato hopefully faces a more glorious fate. The ship is at the very end of the Japanese tech trees, at Tier X. And comparisons are not only being made to Goliath but also to Godzilla.
