World of Warships: First British Cruiser “HMS Belfast” Sighted

In World of Warships, the Royal Navy of Great Britain is next in the game. However, we can already encounter the first ships from Her Majesty’s fleet on the seas, as Wargaming has already distributed the first instances of the premium cruiser “HMS Belfast” to selected testers and YouTubers.

“Rule, Britannia! Britannia rule the Waves!” This verse from the unofficial British anthem can easily be applied to the HMS Belfast. This powerful light cruiser is a premium ship at Tier 7 and was issued to selected test players and well-known YouTube streamers even before the release of the regular British cruiser line.

One of the lucky streamers is EiKarrRamba, who had a lot of fun with the Belfast recently. He was able to record a total of 7 kills with the British cruiser. This is partly due to the ship’s dangerously powerful HE shells, which have an astonishingly high probability of setting enemy ships on fire.

Additionally, the Belfast can install a smoke generator as a cruiser, an additional module that is usually only used on destroyers and provides excellent concealment at sea. At the same time, the Belfast also has advanced detection systems, consisting of sonar AND radar.

With this, she can still optimally detect her enemies even in fog or bad weather and, above all, spot torpedoes from a distance and evade them. As a cruiser, she is agile enough to usually accomplish this, and her superior armament makes her a terror for all destroyers and light cruisers. However, she has no torpedo launchers.

Therefore, the Belfast is considered almost too good by many players, and it is expected that the ship will only come to the shop nerfed after testing. But whether she is too strong or not, the HMS Belfast has announced the British with a great fanfare and makes one crave for more.
