When thinking of World of Warcraft, there are considerations for putting together a special package for visitors of the Warcraft movie – there could be in-game rewards!
From the cinema straight to the PC – The package offer
The upcoming Warcraft movie is the perfect opportunity for Blizzard to generate a bit more attention for the now slightly dusty World of Warcraft. Apparently, the game studio has come to the same conclusion, as some players were recently allowed to participate in a survey. They were asked about their interest in a “World of Warcraft Ultimate Movie Edition.” This would be available – according to current drafts – for free with the purchase of each cinema ticket (likely in the form of a code).
The content at least sounds nice: all expansions (up to and including Warlords of Draenor), 30 days of game time, and a special in-game item.
However, one should not overestimate the plans for this potential offer. Blizzard wants to make all “old” expansions free, so that new players only have to purchase the most current addon. Consequently, the code on a ticket would likely be worth “only” 30 days of game time and a special item – but even that would still be a very lucrative offer.
Whether the “Movie Ultimate Edition” will actually be used and whether it will also make it to Europe remains to be seen.
