In the fantasy MMO World of Warcraft, players will soon be able to create the only prestige class to date, the Death Knight, even if they do not have a higher-level hero yet.
The Death Knight was introduced as a prestige class with “Wrath of the Lich King,” WoW’s second expansion, 6 years ago, and should remain the only one to this day. The Death Knight starts its adventure at level 55, so players previously needed a level 55 hero to create one. Blizzard states that this is no longer timely, especially considering the level 90 boost that came with Warlords of Draenor. In the future, anyone who wishes can create a Death Knight, as there will be no special restrictions anymore.
However, a client-side content patch is necessary for this, so it will take a little while until this comes into effect.
