In the upcoming addon “Legion”, there are again many risqué elements and implied debauchery in World of Warcraft – and it’s sometimes quite amusingly intertwined in quests.
Risqué Romance Novels – Even the Legion has Needs
In the current alpha version of “Legion”, there is again a little treat that I would like to draw your attention to. The humor of the WoW developers shows in many small details of the game world, but it is particularly present and especially suggestive in the “Risqué Romance Novels”. These are (actually readable) books in Azeroth, where protagonists disappear together in a romance sooner rather than later – filled with plenty of word play.
The stories know no taboos, as pairings of Draenei and Humans, Undead and Humans, Pandaren and Humans… well, actually everything involving the Human Paladin “Markus” occurs.
- Markus schafft es immer wieder …
- … mit allen möglichen Kerlen …
- … und allen Frauen anzubändeln.
A little preview of how these lines read in the game? Please!
“The elf with the glowing hair spoke to him first: “Oh, it seems someone is preparing for a battle.” She placed her hand on the tip of his sword and gently pressed it down while dancing past him, not taking her eyes off him. “Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk past you again…?”
Marcus leaned forward and pressed the hard steel against her body unflinchingly. He whispered something in her ear and then straightened up while waiting eagerly for a reaction from her.” – “A risqué romance novel: Hot and Wet“
… and those are still the harmless innuendos.
In Legion, this trend continues, as new editions of the “Romance Novels” can be obtained again. Unlike before, they will not be stolen from the mobs’ inventory by rogues, but crafted by players. At least if they have dedicated themselves to the profession of Inscription (Ha! Wordplay!).
As part of a quest line, players can visit the author of the previous works, Bill Spearkshaker (I have to chuckle childishly at that name – please forgive me), and “learn” from him how to write such wonderful novels. Once that is achieved, you can craft 4 works yourself and gift them to entertain your fellow players.

The titles of the books promise amusingly suggestive content:
- “Legion Lust”
- “Of Elven Bondage”
- “Waves of Desire”
- “Nightborne of the Living Dead”
wait for all the brave souls who want to indulge in such content. However, they are not for the faint of heart, as the Undead Crispin Gravesbane has now taken the place of the Human Markus – and he likes to lose a few body parts:
“A speechlessness overwhelmed him as his jaw dropped. He bent down to pick it up again, lifted it, and let it snap back in the right place.”
Or summarized briefly: Cortyn is looking forward to this nonsense.
The used title image “Eredar Twins” is from Myslire Crimson (Arian).
