The Swirling Nether – The World of Argus (Sargeras Addon)
The Burning Legion is the arch-enemy of all life and the everlasting scourge that has plagued Azeroth for several millennia. At its head sits Sargeras, the fallen Titan – the ultimate threat.
The former home world of the Draenei, Argus, is now the stronghold of the Eredar and the seat of the Burning Legion. It is suspected that Sargeras resides there and commands his troops from there. Archimonde was recently defeated, thus weakening the Legion – it would be a good time to transition from defense to offense. The peoples of Azeroth would have to unite and invade Argus through a portal (opened by Khadgar). A new class, such as the demon hunter, would be suitable, acting as an elite unit that leads the charge and starts at level 100.
What speaks against it: No matter how you look at it, Sargeras is the ultimate evil and thus likely the final threat of the Warcraft universe. If he were truly defeated, a large part of what makes Warcraft what it is would simply break away, and the potential for future games would be diminished. While one could then focus more on the peoples of Azeroth, an Argus addon would – if at all – likely be the last expansion of World of Warcraft, which is still a long way off.
Whether any of these theories will actually come to fruition, we will only know on August 6. Maybe Blizzard will surprise us with something entirely new. Which theory would you like to see become a reality?
