The Light of Lights – The Return of Azshara (South Sea Addon)
That Azshara, the former queen of the Night Elves and current leader of the Naga, will eventually make her appearance is basically a given. After all, she is one of the most powerful sorceresses of all time, as even demons fear her. She repeatedly shows up briefly in quests and instances, but never stays long – until now.
Since the War of the Ancients nearly 10,000 years ago, it has been relatively quiet around Azshara. When the capital of the Night Elves, Zin Azshari, sank into the depths of the sea, the Naga were created, but their leader rarely shows up. Everywhere in the world we see her minions (and even her once in Darkshore), but so far little is known about her plans. In Cataclysm, there were plans to dedicate a raid to her activities, but that was postponed – until now. An addon could bring the Naga as a playable race, either as “outsiders” joining the Horde/Alliance or even as a completely new faction – a step that many players have long demanded to bring fresh air to World of Warcraft.
At the same time, the addon would provide plenty of room for new islands with different vegetation, keeping it visually diverse. Kul’Tiras and Tel’Abim would finally be explorable, and Jaina’s storyline could also be furthered when she is confronted with her people.
What speaks against it: Nothing. A third faction seems unlikely, but at least as a new race, the Naga are conceivable. The South Sea is still missing to finally make Azeroth “complete” and the open storylines that are still waiting are simply too tempting not to address them eventually. Places like “the Tomb of Sargeras” would generate a high recognition value for old Warcraft 3 players and thus round off the picture.
