With the launch of Patch 7.3 “Shadow of Argus”, the weekly pet battle event unfortunately also came to an end in World of Warcraft. Nevertheless, Argus and some old areas offer new, small companions as well as trainers and battles for exciting pet battles with this update.
On Argus, it quickly becomes lonely despite the influx of heroes. Together with the unfriendliness of the planet, one soon feels discontent being alone. It’s nice to have a companion who stands by you!
Pets from the Wilderness
Most new pets can be caught in the new areas of Argus:

- Demonically Addicted Wyrm
- Dwarven Marsuul

Since Mac’Aree will only be accessible this week, the pets from this area will also only be catchable this week.
Pets as Loot on Argus
You can also add some additional companions to your menagerie on Argus through quests, items, or defeating enemies:
Squinty Eye
- Available for 1000 Intact Demon Eyes from Orix, the Eye Collector.
Demonic Corrupted and the Tamed Skyfin
- Can hatch from the Demon-Spotted Egg alongside the Manaray mounts. The eggs can be obtained from the rare enemies Varga, Naroua, Kaara the Pale, and Sabuul.
Grasping Manifestation
- Loot from Ataxon in Mac’Aree.
- Loot from the Faceless Devourer in the Antorian Wastes.
Rebellious Imp
- Loot from Mother Rosula in the Antorian Wastes.
Pets from Other Sources
Classic methods of looting and catching are joined by professions, achievements, and reputation – even if they are likely the original form of collecting for the passionate pet collector.
Professions
- Demon Whippers can be obtained by herbalists when gathering herbs.
- Burrowing Pustulent Larvae can be obtained through skinning.
Reputation
- The Forsaken Marsuul can be purchased with a benevolent reputation during the Argus Assault.
- The Ghost Shark can be bought with the status “Good Friend” from Ilyssia of the Waters.
Holidays
- During the Winterveil, the Snow Globe Yeti can be obtained.
- During the Hallow’s End, Naxxy can be obtained.
Rewards from Trainers
- Completing the collector achievement “A Matter of Typology” will reward you with the Demon Claw Marsuul.
- Buddler is one of the possible rewards for defeating the Pet Battler in Gnomeregan.
Even fans of the old raids can rejoice. The achievement series “Walking the Leash” has received a fifth part, “Nettastrophe”. New pets can now be found in the following raids:
- Throne of the Four Winds
- Blackwing Descent
- Bastion of Twilight
- Firelands
- Dragon Soul
Upon completing the achievement, the pet “Amalgam of Destruction” will also be unlocked!
