WoW drastically increases the difficulty for “Mythic+” dungeons. They are already quite challenging at lower levels!
The next update for World of Warcraft is just around the corner. The “small” patch 7.2.5 brings numerous class changes and the opening of the Tomb of Sargeras. As a result, the maximum item level that players can obtain increases. To compensate for this and maintain fun and excitement in the instances, the dungeons will be significantly harder.
- At the lowest level “Mythic+2”, enemies receive a bonus of 10% to health and damage, instead of the previous 8%. While this may not be significant at this level, the difficulty increases exponentially, making it more apparent at higher levels.
- Instead of benefiting from 100% bonus at level 10, with patch 7.2.5 it’s already a whopping 136%!
- It becomes even more impressive as the level increases. In a “Mythic+25” dungeon, the additional enemy strength is no longer “only” 535%, but 885%.
This means that the first players will soon encounter bosses in a 5-player dungeon whose health points reach into the billions.

On Reddit, the user Nimos created a nice graphic that accurately shows how significantly the various difficulty levels change.
In plain terms, this means that starting Wednesday, players should no longer venture into dungeons of the same level as before. This could lead to some nasty surprises. Over time, however, the characters should be able to catch up in item level, which will decrease the difficulty of the dungeons accordingly. So it is merely a temporary hurdle.
Patch 7.2.5 will be released later this week, on June 14, 2017. However, there will be about 6 hours of maintenance beforehand.
