In World of Warcraft the developers have now confirmed that with the expansion the Survival Hunter will become a melee class.
Yesterday the developers introduced the new expansion for World of Warcraft “Legion”. In a lengthy passage, they showcased the artifact weapons for the individual classes, and for the “Survival Hunter” it was suddenly not a bow, but a spear.

- And indeed, as the developers now confirmed in an interview: The Survival Hunter will become a melee class in World of Warcraft: Legion with a pet by its side.
- The Beast Master Hunter remains as it currently is: a ranged fighter with a wild animal.
- The Marksmanship Hunter will lose its wild animal and will play as it currently does with the special talent “Lone Wolf”: without a pet.
