The connection to World of Warcraft and other Blizzard games is currently not possible. What is going on?
Update 11:05 PM: Some players can log in again, the issues appear to be easing.
Original report: In the evening after work, visiting some dungeons or enjoying the last days of the Easter holidays and celebrating the Noblegarden event in Goldshire – that’s what many players probably planned for today. However, there are problems logging into World of Warcraft. The login servers are causing issues and a connection to the game is not possible.
Since when has this been happening? The first reports came in around 7:30 PM. Since then, reports have been piling up that players can no longer log into World of Warcraft (and other Blizzard games).
Which games are affected? Basically, all games on Battle.net that require a login through the authentication servers are affected. These are:
- World of Warcraft Dragonflight (including Plunderstorm)
- All versions of WoW Classic
- Overwatch
- Hearthstone
- Heroes of the Storm
- Diablo IV
If you can log in right now, then you are simply lucky. Thousands of players cannot do that right now.
What is going on? There are issues with the login server. You can start the Battle.net app (in most cases), but as soon as you start a game, it cannot connect to the servers. The only solution is to wait until there is a green light from Blizzard.
When will everything work again? That is still unclear. As soon as there is a green light from Blizzard and logging in is possible again, we will update this article. Until then, all you can do is wait, drink tea, and maybe read one or two articles on MeinMMO:
Even though it is obviously annoying, you shouldn’t spend the evening constantly staring at the login screen. Instead, use the time to watch a good series or play something else – reading “Connection failed” repeatedly only makes you unhappy.
