World of Warcraft has new character models. Blizzard now shows how they were created.
At Blizzard, you can laugh at yourself or at least chuckle. In the world of Draenor, alongside tragic war stories filled with pathos and drama, there are also many small Easter eggs hidden, pop culture references, or little homages. Science fiction has also captured the developers’ interest (just pay attention to what “Croman” says, a wild mix of all Schwarzenegger action roles, or the numerous references to Star Trek and Ghostbusters.)
In a dev video, the developers now present themselves as aliens who abduct poor residents of Azeroth to give them a “makeover”, whether they like it or not. They decided to go for a makeover because some of the now ten-year-old models no longer fit into the increasingly elaborate world. With Warlords of Draenor, many models were therefore revamped. The attempt was made to keep the soul of the original characters intact. Only the models of the Blood Elves are still on hold for now. They were quite presentable before as well.
