What started with the Patch 6.0 at the launch of “World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor” is now being continued. Many players complained about the lack of darkness during the night. In some areas, one could hardly notice any difference in the lighting conditions.
The North of Kalimdor Gets Darker
So far, only a few zones have been made darker at night, such as Elwynn Forest and the Redridge Mountains. In the upcoming Patch 6.2, nearly all zones of northern Kalimdor will be addressed:
- Darkshore
- Azshara
- Tanaris
- Stonetalon Mountains
- Winterspring
- Mulgore (and Thunder Bluff)
- Teldrassil (and Darnassus)
- Durotar (and Orgrimmar)

The existing images look promising and should allow for a significantly better immersion in the game world. Most friends of good atmosphere and of course the role-players are looking forward to these changes. Those who want to see a direct impact of the day/night cycle in WoW should take a quick look at this video:
