World of Tanks will soon offer special in-game events related to the upcoming film “Dunkirk,” inspired by the movie’s plot and the underlying battle. Since the battle took place both on water and in the air, there will also be events in World of Warships and World of Warplanes.
Starting from July 27, 2017, Christopher Nolan’s film “Dunkirk” will hit theaters. It depicts the “Operation Dynamo” from 1940. At that time, 370,000 men of the British Expeditionary Corps and the French Army had to be evacuated from the town of Dunkirk after the Allied forces were unexpectedly encircled by the rapidly advancing Wehrmacht troops.
You can watch this spectacular action not only in cinemas; the battle for Dunkirk will soon rage in Wargaming’s games World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes.
World of Tanks – Dunkirk Event – On Land, On Water, and In the Air
As with the war film “Fury,” which told the story of a Sherman tank during World War II, Wargaming is again partnering for a film and hosting special in-game events that correspond to the film.
Unlike with Fury, the battle for Dunkirk involved not just tanks, but also ships and planes. Therefore, there will soon be events in all three Wargaming games: World of Tanks, World of Warships and World of Warplanes.
Wargaming has not yet revealed exactly what events they are planning. However, there will be special awards for participants. Additionally, it is very likely that Wargaming will again offer special models of tanks, ships, and planes, as was the case with Fury.
To get you ready for the upcoming events, Wargaming has already launched a page called “Remember Dunkirk,” where you will soon learn more about the events and be able to sign up for the respective games.
