The military MMO World of Tanks is supposed to look great on the Playstation 4. The resolution and frame rate sound excellent. It should even look better than on PC.
In an interview with Dual Shockers on the sidelines of the Tokyo game show, a marketing person from Wargaming hinted at how good the Playstation version of World of Tanks is supposed to look.
60 FPS at a resolution of 1080p will be achieved and it will come across as more elegant and sophisticated than on the PC. Because on PC, many different systems have to be managed. 60-70% of PC users play World of Tanks on weak or mediocre systems, making it difficult to implement more demanding things like HD maps and tanks or the weather system.
Update: Wargaming has since corrected the interview. Even on the Playstation 4, World of Tanks will only run at 30 fps.
In the Playstation 4 version, which everyone plays with the same hardware, this will be easier. Therefore, the PS4 version will launch with HD maps and models, weather effects, night battles, and dynamic effects.
Mein MMO says: This marketing statement is, of course, well received on the console-affine Dualshockers site. It’s like water on the mills of the readers there, who can’t help but make a “Take that, PC Masterrace” comment. How it will turn out in practice remains to be seen.
