In Pokémon Home you have the opportunity to perform a Wonder Trade. For this, you need the Wonder Box. We will show you how to do this and what the special trade can do.
What is a Wonder Trade? In this, you trade a completely random Pokémon with another Trainer. First, you pack Pokémon into the Wonder Box that you want to trade. The other Trainer then blindly selects one of the monsters from the Wonder Box and you select one from his Wonder Box.
The thrill here is that you do not know at all which Pokémon you will receive and at what level it is.
However, you should not confuse the Wonder Box with the Wonder Box from Let’s GO Eevee/Pikachu.
Utilizing the Wonder Box and receiving a random Pokémon
This is how you perform a Wonder Trade: We will guide you through the process of a Wonder Trade step by step. First, you need to place Pokémon in your Wonder Box:
- Open the Pokémon Home app
- Click the “Trade” field at the top left
- Select the Wonder Box
- Click on one of the plus symbols on the screen
- Select the Pokémon you would like to send in the Wonder Trade
- Now fill the other gaps in your Wonder Box using the same process
- Now you need to wait for other players who want to trade with you
After you have filled your own Wonder Box, you can trade. Now we will show you how the trade with another Trainer works:
- Go back to Trade in your Pokémon Home app and click again on the Wonder Box
- The Wonder Box from your counterpart will appear and you can choose a Pokéball that you would like to have
- The trading animation starts and you see which Pokémon you have selected and which Pokémon the other Trainer has chosen
- If you both want to do more Wonder Trades, you can click on more Pokéballs from the other Trainer and repeat the process. However, only one Pokéball can be traded at a time

How many Pokémon can be sent per Wonder Trade? It depends on which model of Pokémon Home you are using. Basic users can select 3 Pokémon per Wonder Trade. Premium users, on the other hand, can select up to 10 Pokémon.
Is such a trade worthwhile? In a Wonder Trade, you can get really lucky and receive strong Pokémon. However, it’s all random, and you can also have bad luck.
Especially if you are still a beginner in the Pokémon games, these trades are worthwhile. You then have the chance to obtain Pokémon at a high level.
If you already have a lot of experience and a lot of Pokémon, you can at least sort out the monsters you no longer need during these trades. Perhaps the Trainer will get lucky and receive a rare Pokémon back that he may not own yet.
Pokémon Home will also be released for Pokémon GO soon. We will show you what advantages this could have for you:
