The action RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is set to receive the new update 1.0.5 this week. It could contain some important changes.
Update February 26: The patch 1.0.5 has now been released. Here you can find the patch notes and more details.
What does the update change? The developers of Wolcen have provided an overview of the changes and bug fixes that will soon come to the game.
The most important bugs that will be fixed are:
- The Act 1 boss sometimes becomes invulnerable
- The Act 3 boss sometimes freezes
- Players sometimes lose items in their personal stash
- Players sometimes lose unlocked colors
- Some characters do not appear in the offline version
Additionally, there will be balance adjustments. Some skills, including Bleeding Edge, the currently strongest build, will be nerfed.
However, these changes will be split across patches 1.0.5 and 1.0.6. Since only one update is released per week, some of these adjustments will be released only next week. We currently do not know exactly how the content will be divided.
A complete overview of the planned changes can be found in the official forum.
When will the new update come? According to a press release sent via email, the new patch is planned for Thursday, February 27.
It is expected to be released on the morning of that day.
Adjustments to the bosses are urgently needed
Why is this update so important? Wolcen is a huge hit on Steam, but the complaints, especially about issues with the end bosses, are significant.
Edric, the boss from Act 1, is challenging and puts you to a serious test. It is all the more frustrating when a phase occurs where he suddenly becomes invulnerable.
The same applies to the end boss from Act 3, where a freeze prevents you from defeating him and completing the story.
What about Bleeding Edge? The skill Bleeding Edge deals more damage the more debuffs are stacked on the opponent, provided the skill has been modified accordingly.
This can increase the damage by a factor of 40, making the warrior ridiculously strong. At the same time, warriors are much more defensive than a wizard, which is why this build currently leads to many discussions. However, these could be over with the new update.
The update from last week already aimed to address an overly strong build. At that time, “Curse of Tyranny” was in focus.
