The first Community Day in Wizards Unite has passed, and many players are complaining about a boring event. What is going on?
This was the Community Day: The event series, known from Pokémon GO, took place for the first time in Wizards Unite. The event was held on Saturday, July 20, between 12 PM and 3 PM.
However, now that the event is over, many players are disappointed. There are even reports that some didn’t notice anything about this event at all.
What players are complaining about during the Community Day
What was the problem? Many fans complain that there was no noticeable difference. The spawns of the findable items were only slightly increased, and truly rare creatures couldn’t be caught.
This is what “pan666” writes on Reddit: “The Wizards Unite Community Day has been here for 45 minutes now, and I’ve been walking through London streets, parks, etc. If I hadn’t read the announcement, I wouldn’t know that a special event is taking place.”
At this point, many players agree. The event was simply nothing special, and many people also complain that the feeling just isn’t there. There were too few players on-site. This is different in smaller towns with Pokémon GO.
How does a Community Day in Pokémon GO work? Since many Harry Potter players also play Pokémon GO, the comparison to Pokémon GO is obvious.
There, you can immediately tell when a Community Day is happening. A specific Pokémon appears much more frequently and can also be caught as Shiny more often. This is the main reason for playing.
This was not the case at all in Wizards Unite. The core of a Community Day was completely missing, as the spawns were barely changed.
Was there anything positive about the event? The opinions about the Community Day are largely negative. Only a few players are convinced of it. However, the triple XP and the small bonus at the start of the event were well received.
What happens with the event now? Niantic will surely also take note of the players’ criticism. After all, it was the first event of this kind in the game, and a lot can still change.
If the Community Day does take place in August as well, there will likely be some changes then.
