With the Warlords of New York expansion, The Division 2 fulfills a great wish for animal lovers. Finally, you will be able to show your love for animals.
The Division 2 is about to open a new chapter: Recently, The Division 2 not only announced the release of Episode 3, but also a major expansion for The Division 2 – Warlords of New York.
This is set to be released on March 3rd and brings along numerous new contents, including the popular Manhattan as a new open world – but differently than known from part 1.
This scene received a lot of praise: The new expansion has already been extensively presented, along with numerous new features, through trailers and a longer gameplay video.
Among animal lovers, a very specific scene generated a lot of appreciation and joy: When an agent enters the base in Lower Manhattan, he also encounters a small German Shepherd puppy. And this little one not only looks cute – it can also finally be petted.
This fulfills a great wish for many players. The dedicated Twitter account CanYouPetTheDog?, created for more dog love in The Division 2, posted this clip, and the video quickly garnered over 20,000 likes.
Many players and fans are excited that Massive has actually listened to the community’s demands and celebrate this feature.
However, it remains to be seen whether there will be just this one dog, whether you can build a deeper bond with it, and what interaction possibilities there are for stray dogs – so far, nothing is known about that.
What is the big wish about? In the post-apocalyptic world of The Division 2, not only survivors suffer, but also animals – such as stray dogs.

The straying four-legged friends do not just wander aimlessly, but react to you and the actions in their surroundings. During shootouts, for example, the dogs crouch down and whimper fearfully or mourn their kind.
This hurt many agents deeply, but they could do nothing about it. Thousands of players had therefore long demanded to help the poor stray dogs, to adopt them, or at least to be able to pet them.
Why thousands of agents want to rescue frightened dogs in The Division 2
This wish will now be fulfilled with Warlords of New York. To what extent, that remains to be seen. But the interaction possibility with the puppy already generates many positive reactions.
What do you think of this little detail? By the way, for a time, there was unintentionally rare special ammunition when, among other things, dogs were shot. But many agents did not participate in this:
