With this trick, you’ll never waste a ball in Pokémon GO again

In Pokémon GO a new trick has emerged that can save you a lot of balls. If you use it correctly, you will never throw a ball away and waste it again.

This is what the trick is based on: This trick only works if you use the catching trick. This allows you to skip the animations you see when catching Pokémon and often saves you 10 seconds per Pokémon when catching.

The new trick builds on that. If you cancel the catching trick at the right moment, you save the thrown ball, even though it was already in the air.

Saving balls thanks to the catching trick

This is how the catching trick works: We explain the catching trick to you here again in a quick overview:

1. Click on a Pokémon
2. Move the selection of berries or balls slightly towards the center of the screen with your left thumb
3. Hold this selection there with your finger
4. With the other hand, you can then throw a ball at the Pokémon as usual
5. If the ball hits, then you can click on “Run Away”
6. Click on the Pokémon again – If it reappears, you haven’t caught it; if it is gone, it has fled or been caught

This is how you use the new trick: To save your balls, you need to be quick. Here we also explain the trick step by step:

1. Throw the ball at the Pokémon, just like you always do with the catching trick. But make sure to use the ball bar for this and not the berry bar
2. If the ball does not hit, you can quickly click on any ball that appears below
3. If you are quick enough, you can save the ball and practically did not use it at all

This only works with balls that do not hit the Pokémon. So you cannot catch a Pokémon without having used a ball.

Why is the trick so good? Many trainers often suffer from a lack of balls. With this trick, you can at least be sure that you will not waste any balls. Every Pokéball actually hits the desired monster.

Is this intended? The same applies here as with the catching trick. Of course, you are exploiting a bug here, but at least the catching trick has been in the game for years and has not been removed.

It is certainly not intended for you to save balls this way. We recommend using this trick at your own risk. MeinMMO editor Noah Struthoff has been using the catching trick and this trick for a long time and has not had any problems so far.
