In Fortnite you will soon play “The Floor is Lava”. Many of you might remember this from childhood when you jumped from sofa to sofa in the living room, avoiding the floor.
The new mode: A mode called “Hot Feet” will soon be activated for players of Fortnite: Battle Royale. This is a game mode that will only be available in the game for a limited time.
How to play: On Fortnite’s news page, there is a little insight into the upcoming mode. It states: “Secure a favorable position or build over the lava that is consuming the island.” The accompanying image shows how buildings and vehicles on the map are being engulfed by the lava.
It seems to be rising from below. Whether there are additional building options compared to the ones previously known is still unclear. Perhaps you can also use the new gun to shoot yourself up.
Many of you still remember “the floor is lava” from your own childhood. Back then, you would jump from furniture piece to furniture piece and were not allowed to touch the floor because the imaginary lava was bubbling there. A popular game for children also played in playgrounds.
When is the mode coming? A specific release date for the LTM Hot Feet has not yet been set. In the game, Fortnite simply states “coming soon”. Presumably, this means that the mode will be activated with the next patch 8.20.
For patch 8.20, Fortnite has already released some patch notes. Bugs with the shotgun and cannons are set to be fixed.
How are players reacting: On Reddit, the mode is being celebrated. However, players are wondering if the lava works the same as the current volcano from Season 8. It is assumed that the lava functions similarly but causes more damage.
“This came very unexpectedly but looks really cool,” writes one player. Some users are more excited about this mode than other content. “I’m kind of glad it’s not a new weapon. Sometimes they add completely pointless stuff,” says one comment.
