Shadowkeep strengthens in Destiny 2 soon the Titan Super “Weapons of Light” and finally makes the Bubble Titan relevant again. An iconic helmet may benefit from this.
Which helmet is meant? Specifically, it is about the Titan armor exotic Helm of the 14th Holy. Most Titans and Destiny veterans should be familiar with this.
It is an exotic helmet that once played a very important role for the so-called Bubble Titans in Destiny 1 due to its special perks. For Void Titans who relied on the protective bubble as a Super, it was essentially a must-have.
Visually, this Exo resembles the helmet of a Spartan and is closely tied to the story of the legendary Titan Saint-14. With the first expansion Curse of Osiris for Destiny 2, this helmet made its return to the world of Destiny. Players have been able to obtain it from all sources that drop exotic engrams.
The Bubble Titan regains his old power with Shadowkeep
That’s why the helmet becomes important again with Shadowkeep: This helmet is currently gathering dust in the vault or collection for a large part of the Guardians. It doesn’t play a significant role for Titans currently, just like the Bubble Super.
What many Guardians are currently excited about: with the release of Shadowkeep, the Weapons of Light, meaning the Titan Bubbles, are being strengthened again. This should finally give the Helm of the 14th Holy a bigger role in Destiny 2.
A Bubble Titan wearing the Helm of the 14th Holy will be able to provide several buffs at the same time, which are meaningfully complemented by the helmet:
- Weapons of Light inside and outside the Bubble for the entire team. This increases weapon damage by 35% for 15 seconds
- Blessing of Light inside and outside the Bubble for the entire team
- Armor of Light inside and outside the Bubble for the entire team
- Blinds enemies passing through the Bubble
- Additional overshield during melee attacks
While the helmet won’t be as powerful as before, the strengthened Super should bring the Bubble feeling close to Destiny 1 again, especially in connection with the Helm of the 14th Holy.
Because the Bubble for Titans will be significantly more powerful. The helmet itself should also gain significant popularity again, as it has so far been limited in usefulness by the weak Super.
The quite useful blind effect has been rarely used due to the weak Bubble Super until now. However, that should soon change, taking into account the sentiment of many Titans as a barometer. Especially in top PvE activities like Nightfall or raids, the helmet can provide a decisive advantage in combination with the powerful Bubble Super. But also in PvP, the helmet could shine again – that’s the feeling of many fans.
What could the helmet do in Destiny 1? Even in the first part, the helmet was enormously important and came with some cool perks. Back then, players had to equip the Defender focus to access “Shield of Dawn.” Only then did the perk of the helmet become active and blinded enemies who entered the spherical shield.
In addition, the helmet increased melee attack speed and granted 30% more Super energy when defeating PvE enemies.
In PvE, the blind effect often kept annoying enemies at bay and effectively complemented the Bubble buff. However, the faster melee attack also made the helmet interesting for PvP players. A quicker punch against a disoriented enemy could often decide victory or defeat in a direct duel and made the helmet additionally attractive for Bubble Titans.
In short: For Defender Titans, the helmet was a powerful exotic in almost all PvP and PvE activities in Destiny 1.
How the helmet currently works in Destiny 2: In its current version in Destiny 2, the helmet does have some similarities to before, but works somewhat differently than in Destiny 1.
The armor perk “Starless Night” currently causes enemies entering the Shield of Dawn to be blinded. Allied Guardians then receive an overshield, and the protection of a Sentinel Shield also blinds nearby enemies – all useful effects, especially in connection with the new buff of the Titan Bubble, which could save you or your team-mates’ lives in various situations.
However, you will have to forgo the faster melee attack and the faster Super regeneration in Destiny 2.
The Origin of the Titan Helmet
What’s the story of the 14th Holy? The helmet once belonged to the legendary 14th Holy. He was an Exo and one of the most important Titans in the history of the Last City. The 14th Holy was the first Titan leader in the Vanguard and served as the Speaker’s right hand.
After the Warlock Osiris was exiled, the 14th Holy continued his crusade against the Fallen and disappeared on a crucial mission to Mercury. There he was to prevent Osiris from disturbing the Vex.
However, on this mission, the 14th Holy got lost in the infinity of the Infinite Forest. He is said to have fought against the Vex for several centuries and destroyed thousands of them. However, the Vex created a ghost that was to drain the Titan of his light. Ultimately, the Vex actually succeeded in defeating Saint-14 and robbing him of his light.
Out of respect, the Vex dug a grave for the body of the legendary Titan. This stood as a kind of monument in a simulated Vex world and was meant to commemorate the grief he brought to the Vex.
How to find the 14th Holy in Destiny 2: In Destiny 2, you can follow in the footsteps of the 14th Holy and find his grave.
To do this, you must first complete 5 verses with Brother Vance on Mercury. Once this is done, you will receive another quest for the shotgun “The Perfect Paradox”.
If you continue the mission, you will come to the quest “Not Even the Darkness.” This leads you to the Infinite Forest to the grave of the 14th Holy. There you can admire the monument that the Vex have erected. The 14th Holy is thus much more than just a myth.
How do you feel about the Bubble Titan playing a bigger role with Shadowkeep?
