Bungie has finally revealed what Guardians can expect this summer in Destiny 2. We show you what content is included in Season 7, the Season of Opulence.
This is what many have been waiting for: Until now, Bungie has kept a low profile regarding plans for Season 7. Now they have finally officially introduced the Season of Opulence. In a new trailer and a dedicated blog post, the studio has illustrated what Guardians can expect from June 4th until August 2019.
What is the Season of Opulence about? Season 7 will revolve around the Cabal Emperor Calus and his gigantic ship, the Leviathan. He challenges the Guardians to prove their worth and sends them on treasure and secret hunts throughout the system – including previously undiscovered areas of the Leviathan.
The main contact in the new season will be Benedict 99-40. A Sweeperbot, who has previously served as a raid vendor in the Tower.

The Season 7 is supposed to offer all Guardians new content – regardless of whether they have acquired the Forsaken expansion or even the Forsaken Annual Pass.
Here’s what all Guardians can look forward to in Season 7:
- A new exotic quest. The exact reward is not yet known. It could be the returning exotic rocket launcher Truth (from June 11)
- New cosmetic rewards
- New triumphs and lore
- New rank rewards
- 3 new pinnacle weapons. In PvP, there’s a sniper, in the strike a grenade launcher, and in Gambit a bow
- Iron Banner with a seasonal quest, where players can earn gear (from June 18)
- The summer event “Solstice of Heroes” with new rewards and an elemental buff mechanic (from July 30)
- Triumph Moments (from July 9)
- Gambit free for all (from July 30) – how long this will last is not yet known
These contents are available to all owners of the Forsaken expansion
Players who have purchased the Forsaken expansion in addition to the base game will receive the following in Season 7 alongside the free content:
- Increase of the power level by 50 levels. The new level cap will be 750
- Access to the special quest “A Imperial Invitation”. This will provide players with equipment at power level 690
- One-time trial of the new 6-player activity “The Menagerie”
- Additionally, players will be able to go treasure hunting each week. Benedict 99-40, the previous raid vendor in the Tower, will have various tasks for you that will lead you to the new max power level of 750
These contents are available to all owners of the Annual Pass
Everyone who has also purchased the Forsaken Annual Pass can look forward to the following premium content as part of Season 7:
- The Menagerie (from June 5): A new pinnacle activity for 6 players with matchmaking. The Cabal Emperor Calus lets the Guardians face monsters in hidden chambers of his ship and loot exclusive Menagerie rewards. Furthermore, the Guardians will gradually build the Chalice of Opulence, allowing them to obtain more powerful rewards
- New Menagerie bosses as well as a Heroic mode (June 25) for this activity
- New raid “Crown of Sorrow”, starting on June 5 at 1 AM. The raid will also take place on the Leviathan – in previously undiscovered areas of the ship
- New exotic quest. It might be the Lumina quest for the new hand cannon (from July 2, probably The Rose)
- Additional lore and triumphs
- Tribute Hall (from July 9)
What is the Tribute Hall? Nothing further is known about the Tribute Hall. We do not yet know who will ultimately gain access to this feature. Although it is mentioned in connection with the (accessible to all) Triumph Moments, it could also be part of the Menagerie where Guardians are to prove their worth. Therefore, we are listing the Tribute Hall until further clarification regarding the Annual Pass content.
What’s next for Destiny 2?
In Season 7: As Bungie emphasizes, they have not revealed all the details for Season 7 yet. More will be unveiled as Season 7 progresses. However, further major features should not be expected.
At the same time, the studio presented an updated roadmap through August 2019 and announced that this was the last update to this gameplay calendar.
