Kill Team and Warcry: Complete game sets for 50-90 euros
The “smallest” option for playing complete battles – or rather skirmishes – are Kill Team for Warhammer 40,000 and Warcry for Age of Sigmar. Both systems are official versions of the game but in a smaller format.
The big advantage of these variants is that you get a complete Kill Team or Warcry group of exactly the faction you want. For between 50 and 55 euros, you get small squads of on average about 10 models (depending on the faction).
Kill Teams and Warcry bands can either be played with the corresponding rulebook or used as a basis for a complete army later. The core book costs an additional 50 euros, but the necessary rules can be downloaded for free on the Warhammer website:
Alternatively, there are also starter sets for 90 euros that include basic rules and a map. The disadvantage of these boxes and the system is, however, that you have to get your own tools and paints. They are not included in the sets.
Starting from these sets, you should also consider buying a transport box. They are often not very cheap. Through the Battlehonours
system in Warhammer stores, you can earn a small transport box. Alternatively, just check out bargain tables: Users find Warhammer figures in a “giveaway” pile, community clarifies: They are probably worth 500 euros
