The game world of Dune: Awakening is built vertically, which means you will constantly have to climb high mountains or buildings. If you want to get down quickly, but safely, there’s a trick.
What is this trick? If you fall from a certain height in Dune: Awakening, you take damage. So far, so predictable. But what actually happens if you are still sitting on your sandbike during the fall? Well, in theory, the vehicle should break apart, explode, and take you to your virtual death. However, the reality is different.
Currently, you take no damage when you crash your sandbike anywhere. It doesn’t matter how deep the fall is. The vehicle also takes hardly any damage. If you even activate the bike’s boost during this, you can expect a real, but harmless speed rush. The Asthma_Queen impressively demonstrates this in a video on Reddit.
How does the community react to the video? Some players celebrate the “insane speed” with a fitting GIF from Spaceballs, while others wonder how this is possible.
- HeavyO can hardly believe it on Reddit: “Wait, the bike doesn’t explode?” In a second post, he adds: “Damn, that’s good to know.”
- RA_lee already knows the trick and only has one concern on Reddit: “Hope I don’t miss the announcement if they change it.”
- UsualWinter1229 adds on Reddit: “I just talked about this with my buddy. If they change this, there will be a lot of dead sleepers.”
- Puzzleheaded_Pear_18 will take the risk going forward (via Reddit): “This will change my playstyle. I just assumed that it would take a lot of damage from falls.”
Since this is likely a bug, it could actually be that Funcom will roll out a hotfix soon. MeinMMO will of course keep you updated with news and patch notes.
