In Lost Ark, a team update has once again sparked conversations within the community. However, a single sentence from this blog post is causing nearly euphoric excitement among many players. We at MeinMMO summarize.
What was announced in the update? In fact, the mood in the Lost Ark community is rather subdued. The major update announced for mid-June has now been postponed to June 30 after two delays, which has demotivated many players. While Lost Ark has done a lot in recent weeks against bots in the game, endgame players are desperately waiting for new content.
Amazon itself states that they are being blocked and therefore cannot roll out the new update yet, which has once again created a negative mood among fans. However, a single sentence in the current blog post seems to completely change that.
It revolves around the mechanics of Yoz’s Jar. This was supposed to bring new skins into the game that would grant you better stats. With a complete legendary skin set, you could have dealt about 2% more damage. However, you would have had to pay around 530 € for this, under average luck. A system that many did not like.
After reviewing the design of this system and considering player feedback, we have decided to remove Yoz’s Jar.

Why is the system being removed? Amazon also writes a few words about this in the post. In summary, it revolves around the Pay2Win aspect of the system. One possibility would be to adjust legendary skins to the values of epic costumes. However, in the short term, the system will simply be completely removed, or it won’t even come to our version.
Amazon does not rule out that Yoz’s Jar may eventually appear in our version in an adjusted form, but for now, players can breathe a sigh of relief.
Over the weekend, Lost Ark showcased its newest class in Korea, the Aeromancer:
“I am really looking forward to the future”
The community celebrates the update: The reactions to the blog post are overwhelmingly positive. On Reddit and in the forum, there are several threads expressing gratitude to Amazon for the adjustments in the West.
In addition to the removal of Yoz’s Jar, another mechanic is making its way into the game that is being very well received by fans: the Honing Buff for Tier 3. This increases your chances of obtaining stronger equipment when you already have a character with a higher gear score. This system is already in place for lower levels in the game and is now being expanded.
The mood is completely positive, and for the first time in a while, there is really good cheer in the Lost Ark channels. A few players do complain about not getting any new skins now, but those are really just a few voices.
What do the fans say? We would like to share a few of the comments here:
- PurpleWedgeMan says (via reddit): ‘Two weeks delay for the honey buff, fair skins, and a ton of banned bots? The wait was worth every minute.’
- Laxxz writes (via reddit): ‘This is really a defining moment, as this is not just about adding something new to the game. This situation must have stirred up a huge conflict between Amazon and Smilegate. Remember that this is the first time a publisher of Lost Ark has stood up against Smilegate regarding Yoz’s Jar. Every other publisher just added it. […] Amazon is far from perfect and some communication difficulties are serious mistakes, but they deserve our respect for this and we must give it to them!’
- AwakenMaster writes (via reddit): ‘Ha, this is great. I am curious to see what Korea does now. Even the players there don’t like Yoz’s Jar.’
- Medusius writes (via reddit): ‘This is freaking awesome. I can’t express how much I love this decision. The postponement of the update is so much better, thanks to this information. Thank you, Amazon. I have doubted you for a long time, but you are really improving!’
What do you think about the upcoming update? Were you looking forward to Yoz’s Jar, or are you also happy that Amazon has removed the controversial system? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO, we look forward to your responses.
