EA FC 24 gives you many opportunities to attract more and more players. This naturally increases your chance of pulling one of the coveted Team Of The Year cards (TOTY). We show you which upgrade SBCs you should complete in which order to get as many packs as possible.
Which Squad Building Challenge (SBC) should you start with? Whether you already own many rare or non-rare gold players, you should start with the ‘Daily Gold Upgrade’. This grants you 11 gold players, including one rare, and can be completed up to four times each day.
All you need for this are eleven bronze and eleven silver cards. Especially for the bronze players, it is worthwhile to simply buy a few premium bronze packs from the shop, as you can get several bronze players at once for 750 coins.
Additionally, you should buy the ‘Premium Energizer Pack’ for 30 coins from the shop every morning and evening. This includes 10 rare gold players and offers the best value for money of all shop packs.
With these simple steps, you will have obtained some rare and non-rare gold players for little money in preparation. You need these to start with the upgrade packs.
Complete League Upgrade SBC over and over again
Which upgrade packs should you complete? Recently, you can complete specific league upgrade SBCs. These grant you packs with eleven gold players from the two top leagues of a country for men and women. While the regular league upgrade only guarantees one rare gold player, the premium upgrade gives you 4 rare gold players. The requirements for each pack differ as follows:
- regular league upgrade: eleven non-rare gold players
- Premium league upgrade: eleven rare gold players
To increase your chances of getting a TOTY, you should definitely prefer the ‘Premium variant’.
Which league offers the best chances of success? When all TOTYs can be pulled from the packs on Thursday night, it is the English Premier League (PL) and English Barclays Women’s Soccer League (BWSL) that promise you the greatest chance of success for a TOTY. These leagues boast nine TOTYs. With four TOTYs less, LA LIGA/Liga F offers all other leagues a maximum of three TOTYs, which is why we recommend focusing solely on the English leagues.

This is how you gradually create new Premium PL & BWSL Upgrade Packs
You should note: Open the packs only from Thursday, January 25, at 7:00 PM. From this point on, all TOTYs are in the packs. However, you can already start accumulating some upgrade packs in preparation. Our method is designed so that you can reuse all players from the upgrade packs.
Step 1: Complete the Premium PL & BWSL Upgrade
With the rare gold players from the Premium Energizer Pack and those from your club or the transfer market, you exchange a team for 11 guaranteed players (including 4 rare) from the Premier League or Barclays Women’s Soccer League.
After opening the pack, check your drawn players. You should store all players over 81 in your club. These are suitable for other upgrade SBCs, among other uses. You should also secure all rare gold cards, as you need them for the next round.
Non-rare gold cards are used to gather player materials for a new premium league SBC. How and where you should exchange these players will be explained in the next step.
Step 2: Exchange non-rare gold cards in the ‘Gold Upgrade’ for rare gold professionals
The ‘Gold Upgrade’ promises you two rare gold players for eleven non-rare gold cards. With the players from the premium league SBC, as well as the players from the daily gold upgrades (see above), you now create new rare gold players for another round of premium upgrade packs. Repeat the ‘Gold Upgrade’ until you have enough rare players, meaning eleven rare gold cards, to once again complete the premium league SBC.
Step 3: Complete the premium league SBC again, repeat the process over and over
The steps can theoretically be repeated infinitely often. After a few rounds, it could happen that you need to buy players. Otherwise, you could simply wait until you can complete the Daily Gold Upgrade again and/or buy the Premium Energizer Pack again to proceed at an even lower cost.
What do you do with the high-rated duplicates from the upgrades? As a final tip, we have an additional tip to obtain even more player materials for the upgrade packs. EA Sports gives you the opportunity this year to exchange your duplicates, i.e. double players, starting from a total rating of 85. In return, you receive a pack with a certain number of rare and non-rare gold players, depending on the rating of the professional you exchanged.
So before you waste your unexchangeable duplicates for any SBC that you’re not really convinced about, better get a new batch of gold cards to complete more upgrade SBCs.
