In World of Warcraft the best guilds in the world are currently competing for the “World First Kills.” They are trying to defeat the bosses in the new raid Mausoleum of the First before anyone else. One guild almost missed the success against one of the bosses.
Which boss is it? Lihuvim is one of the 11 bosses in the new raid of Patch 9.2 and is approached by most guilds as the 6th in line. The automa has various mechanics, such as:
- additional enemies (“Adds”) that must be killed
- “Bombs” that are spread throughout the room and can instantly kill player characters
- abilities that can push players back and thus force them into dangerous areas
The entire fight requires extremely high concentration, as one mistake can wipe the whole group. Additionally, a good amount of damage is necessary, as otherwise, space will eventually run out. You can find the strongest damage classes in the DPS ranking.
This is the bitter defeat: In the current World First Race of Shadowlands, the famous EU guild Method is participating. They attempted Lihuvim yesterday, on March 12, and narrowly missed the kill – with 0.0%:
The boss had about 16,000 health points left, which corresponds to a few spells or weapon swings that unfortunately didn’t come. In the clip, both the casters and the shown player can be seen facepalming in despair.
Method had several such attempts but none as close. As of today (March 13), they were able to defeat Lihuvim and move on to Halondrus. Halondrus is considered “the wall” in the World First Race and was even nerfed live during the event via hotfix.
Lihuvim also troubled the best German guild
The best German guild Aversion also fought against Lihuvim today and just barely obtained the kill. The performance of the guild was similarly close to Method, however, their remaining DPS points were enough to bring down the boss.
Aversion has thus risen to world rank 8. So far, only 8 guilds worldwide have been able to defeat Lihuvim. You can watch Aversion’s progress live on the guild’s Twitch channel.
The World First Race is currently making World of Warcraft the biggest trend on Twitch. Tens of thousands of fans are watching the top guilds tackle the currently toughest bosses of the expansion – and the last ones.
Because after Patch 9.2, Shadowlands ends. The story continues a bit after the raid, but a “big update” will not come until the next expansion.
