In Pokémon GO the second winter weekend has started. In this event, Regice, altered incense, and special winter Pokémon await you.
How long does the event last? It started today, on December 26, at 8:00 AM. The bonuses are only available over the weekend. Tomorrow, on December 27 at 10:00 PM, the event will be over again.
You can relax and play from the sofa this weekend, as it mainly revolves around the item incense. We give you the event overview.
All info about the winter weekend
These are the bonuses: This time the list of bonuses is not that long. But also consider that at the same time the Christmas event is running and you will receive additional bonuses there. For the winter weekend, there are:
- Regice returns to Level 5 raids and can also be caught in its shiny form.
- AR field research gives you different rewards
- The incense attracts special Pokémon. These include: Botogel, Schneppke, Seemops, Shnebedeck, Frigometri, Rossana, and Petznief
This is how it works with the incense: The incense is still only active for one hour during this event period. It does not attract more Pokémon than usual, but still only one monster per minute.
You will most frequently attract Seemops and Shnebedeck. At least that is indicated by the first incense attempts of players. The incense seems to also attract other Pokémon that are not part of the event. But that is very rare.
What you should know about Regice: This legendary Pokémon can also be shiny, and you need at least 3 players to have a chance. The effective types are Fire, Steel, Fighting, and Rock. The best counters are:
- Reshiram with Fire Fang and Overheat
- Skelabar with Fire Spin and Overheat
- Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
- Meistagrif with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Lavados with Fire Spin and Overheat
What happens after the weekend? Until December 31, the Christmas event runs in Pokémon GO. Right after that, the New Year’s event will continue.
However, there are already other events planned for January. These include a Unova event and Community Day. An overview of all known events can be found here:
