PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PC, Xbox One) will receive new weapons in 2018, one of which has already been teased. Fans believe they have guessed the weapon, which is likely to be the FN FAL.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has a lot planned for 2018. In a roadmap for the year 2018, the developers promised new maps, emotes, and new weapons. An initial teaser image has already been shown to the community – we have used it as the title image for this article.
Shortly thereafter, some fans on Reddit had a clear suspicion of what the new weapon might be.
The FN FAL – Finally a big NATO rifle for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
According to fans on Reddit, the weapon in the teaser clip is the FN FAL from Belgium. FAL stands for “Fusil Automatique Léger” which translates to “Light Automatic Rifle”. However, the weapon is quite substantial. As the first NATO weapon in the game, it uses the hefty caliber of 7.62 mm.
This ammunition has only been associated with Eastern European assault rifles such as the Kalashnikov until now. Shooter fans might recognize the FN FAL from various Call of Duty and Battlefield games.
L1A1 SLR or DSA-58 OSW instead of the original?
However, it is possible that in PUBG it is not exactly the FN FAL but rather a licensed product from another manufacturer. The Enfield L1A1 SLR or DSA-58 OSW could also be considered.
Which upgrades the FN FAL can utilize is not known, nor when the weapon will come to the game.
